    Our PreConstruction process provides a collaborative space to evaluate all of the building systems, materials, and design choices against the clients' goals, budget, and timeline.

    We offer limited in-house design services, and enjoy partnering with outside design and architecture firms on a project-fit basis.

  • We self-perform all finish carpentry installations on our projects; ensuring that details are considered and executed properly.

    We also self perform traditional timber frame installations using locally sourced materials. Porches, covered walkways, entrances, architectural details.

Leadership

Colton began his professional career in product and furniture design, graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design. His experience in designing product aesthetics and user experiences formed the foundation of what would become Grant Buildworks.

Years of hands-on remodeling work as a carpenter followed, cultivating a deep appreciation for fine craftsmanship. He discovered a skill for finish carpentry, enjoying the challenge of balancing accuracy and efficiency. He witnessed first-hand the thousands of coordinated decisions required to transform an old home into a fresh, carefully considered space.

Working on dozens of homes ranging from near-new to over a century old instilled an on-going fascination with building science. How to build a durable, comfortable home is a question without a single answer; each project demands solutions tailored to its structure, climate, budget, and goals. Helping clients understand these tradeoffs and make informed decisions has become one of the most rewarding parts of his work.

Colton founded Grant Buildworks in 2023; built on a foundation of client experience, fine craftsmanship, and building science. He continues to lead and grow the business; collaborating with excellent trade partners and design professionals to bring client's projects to life.
