My name is Colton Grant. I own and operate Grant Buildworks.

I graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a degree in Product Design. I spent the following few years in the furniture design industry; gaining valuable experience crafting user experiences and developing product aesthetics. I saw a career in residential remodeling as an opportunity to design and build for unique and real individuals, and decided to pursue it.

I spent the following years working on homes ranging from 1910 to the 2010’s, learning the process of remodeling from an excellent builder. I saw first hand how homes have been built over the last hundred years, and most importantly where and how they start to fail. These years fostered my fascination with all things residential construction; the history of how we’ve designed and built our homes, modern building science, techniques for installing complicated millwork and mouldings, bulletproof site protection strategies.. I’d found a career where I could always keep learning and improving.

I started Grant Buildworks in 2023.

I saw an opportunity to create a small business that could provide a better customer experience and an attention to detail that larger companies often struggle to attain.

A typical remodeling company might have a half dozen people that take your project and pass it along like a game of telephone, losing important details at each handoff. At Grant Buildworks, we have one active project at a time. Our clients work directly with me through the entire process from design through final touch ups; ensuring that the details that you are so excited about get executed properly.
